If you are an enthusiastic diver looking for some of the more exotic dive spots around the world, Puerto Escondido in Mexico could be the place for you. Puerto Escondido is a small surfer town in Mexico that is growing rapidly. It is only 45 minutes away from Huatulco, another great port in Mexico with plenty of diving, surfing, boat rentals and other aquatic adventures. In Puerto Escondido you can dive volcanic rock reefs and has a tremendous variation in exotic marine life which you can also see on a snorkeling trip. If you are up for a week or more of diving you can also rent the boat Lucia Celeste where you will sail around the Mexican waters and go to hidden dive spots around Mexico. This boat can sail from Acapulco, Ixtapa or Puerto Escondido.

Huatulco Bay Map

Huatulco Bay Map

Huatulco Bays are located along the coast of Oaxaca, at the end of the southern Sierra Madre Mountains, stretching over 35 kilometers along the Mexican Pacific Ocean’s seashore, between the Coyula and Copalta River mouths. Because of its geographic location, the Huatulco Bays topography is formed by mountains, valleys and slopes and is quite rough and uneven. The land formations are irrigated by the Coyula, San Agustin and Copalita Rivers, giving a very special touch to the magnificent landscape where the nine bays are located.

Fishing trip Huatulco Oaxaca Mexico

Huatulco in Oaxaca Mexico is one of the fastest growing destinations in Mexico for beach vacations. Growing from a hidden getaway destination fast to an international tourist paradise Huatulco has more and more activities for you to enjoy. A popular trend is going out in one of the nine bays of Huatulco for fishing or even further out for some deep sea fishing. Sports fishing are also becoming very popular and there are plenty of boats and yachts to go out in. For fishing I can recommend the Pocamaxtl sports fisher boat or the Virginia charter for up to 16 people.
